Thomas Gilbertson CFP®, ChFC®

Thomas Gilbertson CFP®, ChFC® holds a Bachelor degree in Business Administration with a focus in Entrepreneurship from the University of St Thomas. In 2003, Tom started his career in the financial services industry as an intern with three financial advisors in the Twin Cities. It was here that he first discovered the amount of good you can do for a family by creating a sound financial plan. In June of 2004, after graduating from St. Thomas, he joined Northwestern Mutual as a Financial Representative. There he studied and learned risk management and how important it is to have a sound financial foundation. After passing his securities registrations he made the move back to his hometown of Willmar and developed his practice at Affiliated Financial Services in September 2005. Here he grew his practice in the area of small business planning and wealth accumulation strategies. In November 2009, Tom started his own company, Gilbertson Management Group LLC which is located on the beautiful MinnWest Technology Campus in Willmar. In August 2020, Tom joined forces with David Anfinson, owner of Anfinson Thompson & Co., and formed Anfinson Gilbertson Wealth Management. Anfinson Gilbertson focuses on building long-lasting relationships with each client. Tom especially enjoys creating tailored financial strategies with young successful families. These strategies first help minimize risk and confusion then secondly work to build wealth. The other area Tom is passionate about is helping businesses develop and implement systems to help ensure the company is prepared to last for generations. This is done by studying the business from an outside perspective while concurrently looking at the operational parts within the company.  Tom obtained his Certified Financial PlannerTM certification in 2020.

Tom resides in Willmar with his wife Ashley and their dog Bella Bean.  Ashley is the ELL (English Language Learner) teacher for the KMS School District.  They enjoy the outdoors and camping at State Parks; spending time on the lake, and skiing in the winter time.  When Tom is not in his office you will likely find him volunteering throughout the community making the area a great place to live, work and play.
